SHEDIAC, N.B. -- A former teacher won't go to jail for having sex with a 13-year-old male student.
Renee Florence Gaudet, who was 27 at the time of the offence last June, pleaded guilty in November to assault. She was sentenced Thursday. Gaudet was placed on house arrest for two years less a day with a number of conditions. They include that she go to a mental health clinic for assessment and treatment, if necessary.


The Times relayed more of the gory details...how she had been this kid's grade 6 teacher, how she took him to her brother's apartment one afternoon while he was out at work, made out with the kid, stripped in front of him, then did all kinds of nasty things.

Her lawyer says she was "in an emotionally fragile state" at the time of the shagging.
