Chatham, NB

This weekend I went to Chatham, now part of the city of Miramichi, to visit my parents, in-laws, and sister in law, who just had her first baby.
Going there always makes me sad, as all new development is going to the other side of the river, and Chatham is going to seed. Everytime I go back another business is boarded up. Plus, most of the beautiful old houses are cut up into cheap apartments, there's a lot of vandalism, and people just don't seem to care about how the town looks.
It's a real shame, because the whole area has such tourist-drawing small town porn potential, with the beautiful river and interesting history.

Not to mention the "tourist-drawing" serial killers.

(How do you think the Nun became "Headless"?)
