Crazy Americans

Peter and I met this couple yesterday at a restaurant while on our way to Saint Andrews.

They're from Alexandria, Virgina, and were on their way to their summer home in Newfoundland.

Peter and I were astonished when they explained that their summer place was in a community of just 600 way the hell up on the very northern tip of the province.
They drive from Virginia to Cape Breton, take the very long ferry, then they have to drive all the way up the province. It takes three days.

Wow. That's quite a trip. I hope they stay for more than the weekend. Must be lovely where they are!

I have been to Newfoundland and totally get why people would take up to 3 days to drive up there. It is GORGEOUS!!! It's peaceful and it's relaxing, that said the ferry part isn't all that fun. ;)
