Goodbye Summer

Yes, I know it's still calendar summer, but the end of August is the end of the best part of summer. We went to the beach on Saturday for a couple of hours. The Boy and I must have caught about fifty hermit crabs.

Today it's raining and windy and really cold, and the Boy is visiting his Nanny and won't be back until sometime this afternoon. So, I'm going to do some housework, get the fall quilt I made a few years ago on the bed, then light a fall-appropriate hot apple pie candle, and sit down and finish sewing the binding onto a Halloween lap quilt that's been in the works for four years. :)

I know - I can totally fell the autumn in the air. I can't believe this summer is over! Everything is back to normal tomorrow - my boy starts school & I'm gonna take your advice. I'll put the autumn bedspread on the bed & burn some apple cinnamon candles. Tomorrow is my last day of holidays & I'm looking forward to a day to myself.
