Where We Stayed

The Marathon Inn , built in the late 18-somethings by a retired sea captain. It's gorgeous.

Gorgeous is right! You know how to pick 'em. Are there any ghost stories that go with this Inn? Is that cross on the window etched in?
You really should be a tour guide. I mean a paid tour guide.

I'm starting to think I should be a tour guide, too! Then I could be a tourist all the time!
I asked the nice lady who owns the place about ghosts, and yup, she said they have a couple.
She said she once heard a lot of voices and furniture moving around in one of the buildings and assumed her partners' teenagers were having a clandestine bash with some buddies...but she said when she went to investigate, the noise kept switching rooms on her!
And, she said when they once were closed for renovations, one of the locals was having a peek around, and an old guy tapped her on the shoulder and asked her what she was doing there, and disappeared when she turned around! They figured it must have been the retired sea captain who built the place. Cool, huh? Peter didn't think so.

The cross thingey is actually out on the lawn, and I can't remember what it was for exactly, but it wasn't meant as a cross.
