A Finished Hooked Rug!
And it only took me about a week! I worked on it each night, instead of starting it, then putting it in the closet to age for a couple of years, as I usually do with my crafty endeavours.
I'm going to try drawing my own pattern tonight.
I think this is going to be The Year of the Hooked Rug for me.
Pic # 2 is the mat hanging above the kitchen door, where I envisioned it when I first saw the kit on ebay.

OO! Pretty! Love it! Congrats on the speedy finish!
It's great!
That was fast. I really love hooked rugs. You have me seriously thinking about trying to figure out how to do it. As soon as I finish my quilting class....one thing at a time.
You're taking a quilting class, Netter? Good for you!! I think you'll love it!
And you definitely don't need a class to learn rug hooking. Get yourself a beginner's kit and the instructions will tell you everything you need to know.
Beautiful!
My Mom did a Cheticamp style hooked rug, hooked rug from very fine wool strips, a few years back. She hooked the rug free hand. Only rug she ever did, she had all the gear too; she recently gave it all to an Aunt. You can see a photo of the rug in this post. http://tapestry.typepad.com/a_mingling_of_threads/2004/12/holy_crow_were_.html
