Finally finished "Tree." Can't believe I haven't read it before now. My mouth was literally hanging open during the weaning of the "unnatural" four year old kid. I'm very glad I didn't have to resort to anything like that with the Boy.We're doing "The Kite Runner" next.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is one of my all time favorites! Now I want to read it again. Kite Runner is a great book as well - very sad - but great.
I know you had asked about Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - I would definitely recommend it. It's like The Good Earth from a woman's perspective. Another sad one though. You may need to lighten up after Kite Runner
ps I'm totally jealous of your weekend. Mine was anything but relaxing.
