Finished This
Not bad. Not as good as Tara Road or Scarlet Feather, but I certainly enjoyed it. And it's the first book I've been able to get into in about two months!

Good ol Maeve Binchy!
Hey have you read the Sue Monk Kidd book Mermaid something or other? Michelle just lent it to me. I saw on TV that there's a movie, too.
(Blogland is quiet. What's up with that?)
It's unusually quiet today. Where is everyone?
I read that book. It was good, but I was so angry at the main character for being a cheating ho that I'm not sure I would say I enjoyed it.
Oh! She's a ho! That's not right at all. Maybe I won't enjoy it as much as I thought. I have no tolerence for cheating ho's. Men or women.
However, I loved Secret Life of Bees so much, I must read this. I hope the ho is not glorified for being a ho. Then I would have to write to the author and ask her about her morals. And I don't really want to do that.
She's not exactly a ho, she's trying to "find herself" by abandoning her nice husband and shagging a monk.
oh.
Which is worse than being a ho. And I'm not religious, but I just don't see myself with a monk.
I think you may have to read the book to understand what I'm babbling about.
Oh man, I loved The Secret Life of Bees, but that Mermaid book really peeved me off. I hated that she was cheating with that Monk....sheesh! I agree, its worse than being a ho. You know, you can "find yourself" without sleeping with a Monk for goodness sake. I finished that book but it about killed me.
Which begs the question. Cheat with a monk, or cheat with Monk (the tv character). Think amongst yourselves.
That's a great show!
The book is very slow and I keep waiting for more exciting parts. There aren't any so far.
