Farm Day

Yesterday was "Open Farm" day in New Brunswick, which means a bunch of farms in the province were open to the public, so that our kids can learn where food comes from.
We went to Belliveau orchards, where we went on a wagon ride, picked our own apples, and the Boy had an awesome time jumping on a mountain of hay.
Then we went to a dairy farm where the Boy got to feed a calf and see how cows are milked.
I found the milking somewhat disturbing. It reminded me very much of the breast pump I used when I was a nursing mother. It's just wrong to be able to empathize with a cow.

I love cows - so much that I want one as a pet. My husband, having been raised on a farm thinks I'm retarded.

Open Farm day. That's cool. Looks like the boy loved it.
You're such a good mom.
