My Book Club Met Tonight
My Nantucket basket purse was greatly admired by all, including the 16 year old guy at Starbucks who made my Vanilla Creme.
We read "My Antonia". We all loved it. It made me think of the "Little House On The Prairie" books, but less sanitized. The author used to spend her summers on Grand Manan. I can't wait to read more of her.
This month we're reading "Empire Falls," my choice. I hope everyone likes it. It's not a great feeling when your choice is being trashed.

OH MAN! I wish I had known that you were reading that book. Willa Cather was a native Nebraskan. I read this for a book club several years ago and visited Red Cloud NE, her hometown prior to the meeting, since I was home on vacation. I have some great lit that I would have mailed to you. It's so neat, I have pictures of the town, homes they lived in, and the famous church that the church in the book was based on. I also have info about the family that it was based on. If you want...I can dig it out and mail it to you. The ladies might find it interesting after the fact. It was a huge hit in my group.
