Helpful Boy (Another Lost Post)

One morning in December, the Boy announced that he was going to make breakfast for us. He got out the bread and peanut butter, and made a peanut butter sandwich (that's the extent of his culinary skills.)
Then, he helped me fold laundry! He's already more helpful than his father ever was.
I was so impressed I teared up a bit.
I wonder if he could handle a part-time job at McDonald's? It's about time he earned his keep.

Awww, I love it when kids go through their helpful stage. If only it lasts forever. I have always said, if they want to help, let them. It doesn't bother me if I have to go back over everything later when they are asleep. It makes them feel good and its a good habit to start. I love it when they want to dust.

I love it when my son is mister helpful...except when I run out of jobs for him and he's jonesing for more. He's 10 1/2. The 9 year old doesn't want to do anything.
Lately its become his thing to make his own breakfast etc before I even crawl out from between the sheets. I LOVE this with the love that only comes from the truly lazy. :oD
