I've read all three and would put them in this order:
Joy Luck Club
Shipping News
Prince of Tides
But then again, I'm not one to go for depressing books.
Well I've only read Joy Luck Club.
Shipping News I believe is in a pile of books to be read. Prince of Tides never interested me. Soooo, my vote is for Joy Luck Club.
Hey Sue. I'm not usually one for depressing books either, but The Shipping News is one of my favourite books of all time. I have no idea why.
Paula: Prince of Tides is another depressing book, until the end. I think Pat Conroy is awesome. And so southern!
Hmm, it all depends on your group and what kinds of themes would be good for them.
All of them are good. Whichever one you pick will be fine!
I second Sue's comments. I don't care for PoTs..the abuse of the children revolted me and ruined the tale. But thats just me.
