Best Chick-Flicks

One of my New Year's resolutions was to watch more movies. So I've decided to start a collection of girl movies.
Here are some of my favourites.

- Bridget Jones's Diary One of my favourite movies (and books) of all time. I am Bridget.

- Where The Heart Is A charming movie starring Natalie Portman as a pregnant 17 year old abandoned at a Wal-Mart by her POS boyfriend. She perseveres to make her dreams come true, and finds love, while the asshole boyfriend turns his life into crap, and his legs are cut off by a train.

- Steel Magnolias Quite possibly one of the very best girl movies ever. I must have seen it a hundred times over the years, and I still cry at the end when Sally Field freaks out at Julia Roberts' funeral.

- Little Women The newer one, with Winona Ryder. Colonial New England house, antique and quilt porn. And still one of my favourite books.

- Babycakes I think this was made for TV. Ricki Lake in her pre-talkshow host days as a sad overweight funeral home makeup artist, who falls for Craig Sheffer, and by the end of the movie, is a bright happy perky BBW taking charge of her life. And she gets Craig, too. V. sweet.

That's all I can think of at the moment.
