Nostalgia (I Heart The Eighties)

I'm listening to "New Song" by Howard Jones. I ownloaded-day it off the et-nay about 20 minutes ago. It's the first time I've heard it in years and years. I was around 13 when it came out, the age when the music you listen to is imprinted on you for life. I used to watch the video on "Friday Night Videos," and "All Hit Videos" with Chuck Foster out of Bangor, and that show with Geoff Banks out of Halifax. There was no MuchMusic then, and you had to have one of those big-ass satellite dishes bigger than your house to pull in MTV. So you only got to see videos on the weekend.

It was very cool watching with my two best friends, Wendy and Tina. But it was the coolest being up at 1:30am dancing around the living room all by myself, while my parents were upstairs in bed asleep. It's all coming back right now, listening to Howard.

I never thought I would ever be happy to feel like I did in junior high.

Something I Finished

And need to frame.
I somehow made this quilt-themed cross stitch sampler when I was on maternity leave. I bought the materials when the Boy was only a month or two old, and finished it in 3 or 4 months. I don't know how I did it with a new baby. There's a picture of us with the Boy lying on a pillow nursing, and me holding the frame above him, stitching away. I look crazy in the picture. I think it was the sleep deprivation.
