It just broke my heart today when I read this about Lucy Maud Montgomery. But I wasn't very surprised. I've been reading her journals this year, am in the middle of one right now, in fact, and she was clearly a very unhappy person with a lot of stress in her life. I've always loved her books, but the next time I pick up "Anne," it's not going to be the same.
