Turkey Dinner!

I had yesterday off, from work and The Boy, so I took the time to make my own turkey dinner.
It's very nice to have Christmas dinner at someone else's home, but you have to have your own, for the roasting turkey smell wafting through your home, the leftovers, and the sandwiches.
Also, when it's just for you, it isn't nearly as much work. And, you can make it just the way you like it.

For instance, I like to make my stuffing with an entire lb. of butter, lightly sauteed onion and celery, salt, pepper, and sage and savory mixed together. I also use cheap Sobeys 60% whole wheat bread that I just rip into pieces, no toasting. I also put it in the bird. It's just not the same cooked in a dish. It's disgustingly high in fat, and totally yummy!

Also, you can eat the tasty crispy skin all yourself without having to share. You can also eat the skin without someone saying, "Gross!" or "That's going straight to your ass, you know!"

Movie Marathon!

Got back from Christmas in Chatham with the 'rents and ex in-laws Sunday evening...it's now Wednesday morning...saw 3 movies in that time.

Walk The Line...was pretty good, though I don't know much about Johnny Cash.

Memoirs Of A Geisha...two thumbs up! Very pretty to look at, and pretty much true to the book, though it's been a while since I've read it.

And finally...King Kong last night. It was good! A lot of fun, with CGI dinosaurs and scary-ass natives with bad teeth and pinkeye, and scary, gross creepy-crawleys on Skull Island. I thought Kong's behaviour was basically just like that of my two-year old.
